Today we would like to raise your awareness about the importance of consuming organic food. We started our journey 10 years ago by replacing conventional food with organic, which really made a huge difference in our lives. We were surprised about the amazing results we have achieved ourselves, so we would like to share our personal experience with you here on the blog. Chances are if it helped us improve our health state and get rid of our health problems, then it might work for you, too!
We were experiencing several kinds of severe allergies. All of them were proven linked to the pesticides conventional food contained. Pesticides are residues of artificial hormones that are used to promote growth in beef cattle, dairy cows and sheep. Pesticides lead to higher rates of infection in animals and thereby may also increase the risk of ill health in humans (including neurological problems, cancer, infertility, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, birth defects, allergies, asthma, rashes, other skin problems, etc.).
We noticed that our health state improved as soon as we started making changes in our diet. The more organic food we consumed, the less allergies and skin problems we were experiencing.
We were amazed about the results, so we started researching and learning more about this. Again this started 10 years ago, so we are sharing 10 years of personal experience and knowledge with you. We learned that organic food contains increased levels of essentials, nutrients as well as antioxidants. All of which are important for your health. Additionally organic food tastes much better! You will notice the difference as soon as you try it. We have also learned that the way your food is grown or raised can have a major impact on your mental and emotional health as well as the environment. Organic farming not only reduces pollution, conserves water, reduces soil erosion, increases soil fertility, but uses less energy, too. Farming without pesticides is also better for nature, animals as well as people living close to farms.
Certified organic means that the plant or product is tested and was proven being free from radiation, synthetic fertilisers, prohibited pesticides and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). By choosing organic, you’re not only getting more nutrition, but you’re avoiding dozens of chemical pesticides linked to all types of serious health problems as well as environmental destruction at the same time. Certified USDA Organic products contain zero antibiotics or growth hormones; 100 percent organic feed, while giving animals access to the outdoors and upholding animal health.
Sometimes people think that rinsing fruits and vegetables will eliminate pesticides. Truthfully it only removes a very small portion of pesticides from the surface, but it does NOT eliminate pesticides from the inside of the plant. Peeling sometimes helps, but valuable nutrients often go down the drain together with the skin. Our suggestion for you is to buy organic whenever possible. If you’re on a budget, or the selection of products is limited, then the list bellow can help you focus your attention on avoiding the most contaminated fruits and veggies.
